Supporting SEAL
A practical, ready to use whole-school and classroom package to support the development of children’s social, emotional and behavioural skills (SEBS). Complements and extends the National Strategies SEAL curriculum materials.
The importance of classroom based programmes to develop children's SEBS has been emphasised through the national availability of The Primary National Strategy's 'Excellence and enjoyment: social and emotional aspects of learning.'
Research shows that, to be successful, taught programmes need whole-school environmental support. Within this environment the repeated practice of social, emotional and behavioural skills takes place. Not only does 'Supporting S.E.A.L.' effectively translate the theory of whole-school ethos into practice through the assemblies, posters, certificates etc. but ALSO provides classroom practitioners with a wealth of stories and activities that bring to life, exemplify and reinforce the concepts and key messages of SEAL.
